We are currently looking to employ a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in our fantastic school.

We would like to hear from you if you are looking to gain experience in an independent preparatory school.

We are looking an individual who can work well with a certain degree of independence, who has an innovative outlook, clear ambition, enthusiasm for pupil development and who will be fully involved in the life of the school. You will be required to work with individual children and groups of children, as well as stepping up to lead the class in the teacher’s absence.

Based in Wembley, Middlesex, St Christopher’s School and Nursery is a co-educational independent school for children aged 2 years -11 years. We pride ourselves on keeping our practice reflective and up to date, so that we can provide the best opportunities for every child, every day. We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate the following:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be working alongside our passionate staff, you will also have a responsibility to;

  • Assist staff in the effective running of lessons and the school day;
  • Attend and contribute towards all relevant staff meetings and inset days;
  • Attend Prize Giving, Open Mornings and other relevant whole school events;
  • Contribute to morning care and after school provision;
  • Contribute towards a safe and stimulating learning environment;
  • Enthusiasm for co-curricular activities, whether drama, music or sport
  • Hear children read and record their progress;
  • Help to maintain tidy classroom environments and to prepare resources for lessons;
  • Help to display children’s work and prepare teaching displays;
  • Meet the health and safety and safeguarding requirements of the school at all times;
  • Participate in co-curricular school activities including clubs, day and residential trips;
  • Provide teaching cover as required throughout the school;
  • Undertake all duties which reasonably fall within the purpose of the role and which may be allocated by the Deputy Head, staff and departments
