About Traill International School

Welcome to Traill International School – where we believe that every student is somebody

History

Traill International School was founded in 1966 by Mr and Mrs Anthony Traill.

Mr Traill believed wholeheartedly that you had to educate the “whole child” and put in place strategies to ensure the all-round development of students, including athletic, academic and moral attributes.  His philosophy was that smaller schools allowed students to take part in all areas of the school curriculum, giving them confidence in their abilities and to strive and reach their full potential.  He successfully provided a warm, homely and safe environment, which he believed was of key importance in ensuring well-rounded successful students.

Over the years, the school has grown and progressed with new well thought-out building designs and state-of-the art facilities.  Staying true to the ideals of Mr Anthony Traill, the school continues to grow, ever building on its curriculum, standards and philosophies in accordance with 21st century standards and values.  Despite the passing of over five decades, the school maintains its homely, happy and secure environment.  At Traill, we pride ourselves that we are not just a school, but also a community.

Education the Traill Way

Traill International School welcomes children and students from the ages of three to 18. Our school caters for students from a wide range of backgrounds and is proud to be considered as truly international, with students of over 26 different nationalities enrolled.

Our Primary School follows an integrated education programme incorporating the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with the Inspire Curriculum and the Rising Stars Assessment Progress Tests.  Literacy and Numeracy lessons are planned using the latest frameworks.

For Secondary and Sixth Form, we follow the British National Curriculum. At the age of 16, students sit the IGCSE examinations in eight subjects and then complete a further two years for their A-levels. These are set and marked by the University of Cambridge. Traill students have consistently enjoyed excellent examination results – well above the average for both UK and international schools – and this year promises to be the same. Year after year, Traill students win the Cambridge “Top in Thailand” awards for various subjects and categories, and we are committed to ensuring that this record continues.

Why Work at Traill?

Our teachers come to us at varying times of their careers.  Some teachers have simply visited Thailand/Bangkok before and loved it so much they want to live here.  After they arrive and discover just what a wonderfully welcoming school we are, they stay for many years.  We are also able to offer NQT status to newly qualified teachers, so we sometimes get teachers applying to us who wish to start their career in the international teaching arena.   What better way to begin, than to be working with a group of highly qualified, experienced and inspiring teachers.

For over 5 decades our school has maintained and improved our teaching standards.  We are triple accredited with the Education Development Trust, British Schools Overseas and Sor Chor (The Association of Thai Schools).

With less than 500 students we have a low teacher to student ratio, allowing teachers the opportunity to work closely with students.

We have state of the art facilities which are reviewed and improved year on year to ensure that they remain cutting edge.

We would love to tell you that the temperature in Bangkok is cool at night or that the traffic  isn’t always congested, but that wouldn’t be true.  What we can say is that Bangkok is an exciting and interesting place to live and work.  If you enjoy travel, there are incredible inexpensive opportunities to explore, both the differing regions of Thailand and the rest of the southern hemisphere.

Are you our next recruit?

We are looking for teachers who have high expectations in terms of learning, engagement, behaviour and achievement. We are seeking teachers who are committed to providing a first class education but who also take an interest in their students by offering extra curricular activities, take time to watch their students in school productions and communicate with their parents.

If this sounds like you, then apply to join our community.
