About the Program

Grounded in Research

Our research-based program is underpinned by local and internationally renowned theories of education, past and present and draws from the curriculum frameworks of China, England and Australia. This robust approach ensures our scholars are equipped with the tools to embrace an ever-changing world with vigor. We enact the curriculum frameworks through in-depth modes of study. This innovative approach ensures learning is targeted, authentic and responsive to scholars needs, thoughts and theories.

Relationship Building

Our program is arranged so that children will develop a greater sensitivity to each other as they navigate the complexities of relationship building through a supported social model of learning. This model directly asks the question: “How can the inevitable challenges that arise when people come together in groups serve as an opportunity for learning rather than a source of contention?” Working in such a way allows for children to practice self-regulation, fairness and compassion.

Language and Literacy

Listening and extending children’s thoughts and theories is a hallmark of our program. For children, being able to express their ideas is inextricably linked to their sense of self. This strong focus on language acquisition allows us to support children to communicate effectively in two languages. However, developing strong communication skills goes beyond traditional ideas of language and literacy, which we have expanded to include, emotional, cultural and critical literacy.

Intellectual Rigor

Setting the environment up to facilitate problem-solving allows us to harness children’s natural curiosity and supports them to develop an intellectual response to problems. We do this by showing scholars how they can overcome problems by thinking and regulating their thoughts and behavior. Developing skills such as predicting, hypothesizing and investigating, and encouraging “why-type” questions, allows us to create the ideal learning platform for an intellectually challenging program.

Teachers

A strong sense of culture and place enables our students to feel connected to their home, community and the wider world. Our children do not have to sacrifice their first language and culture in order to acquire another. In embracing the full marriage of eastern and western cultures and educational beliefs, we seek to ensure that international mindedness runs indelibly through the DNA of our own cultural identity.

Our Preschool classrooms are led by a team of Chinese and Expat teachers who teach in both Chinese and English. Our teachers are co-leaders, co-contributors and equal partners. Encouraged by the blurring of cultural mores, our co-teaching model allows children to acquire both languages in an authentic way. Each teaching partnership seeks to motivate children into active learners capable of meaningful thought and communication in both English and Chinese.

 About you

  • Formal teaching qualification
  • Experience in early years or lower primary education
  • Interest in progressive early education and a growth mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the development of an outstanding school
