Dair House is a wonderful small independent mixed Prep school in Farnham Royal with 120 children from Nursery to Year 6.  We are looking for an inspirational KS 2 teacher who also has the ability to lead on digital learning. The ability to teach games would also be an advantage.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Plan teach and assess lessons in line with School’s policies to ensure all pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are working towards achieving the necessary progress in line with the National Curriculum. 
  • Provide a secure and engaging learning environment. 
  • Work to achieve the whole school development plan. 
  • Work collaboratively and share good practice with staff members. 
  • Promote a stimulating and inspiring learning environment that ensures the engagement of pupils within all relevant subjects.  
  • Provide a professional role model for pupils. 
  • Develop teaching and learning within the curriculum area. 
  • Monitor the progress of pupils. 
  • To write reports and attend Parents’ Evenings as required.  
  • To enter any pastoral or safeguarding concerns or communications into CPOMS. 

KEY DUTIES FOR COMPUTING

This is an exciting opportunity for a gifted teacher with insight and enthusiasm to lead this important area of the curriculum. Since November 2022 all KS2 children have their own individual laptops. The school also has a class set of Microsoft Surfaces, a class set of iPads and LEGO Education SPIKE. Dair House School is aiming to become a Microsoft Showcase school in the future, and we are looking for a forward-thinking individual who can take us on this journey.

·        To take full responsibility for leading, managing and developing the Computing curriculum and Digital Learning across the School.

·        To lead on the teaching of the subject across all year groups and make a significant contribution to the teaching of the subject.

·        To organise enrichment programme of activities within the department.

·        To be responsible for the use of personal learning devices in the School and lead on advising where they are most suited and effectively used.

·        To strategically develop the Digital Learning Strategy of the School

·        To advise SLT on the School’s Digital Learning strategy and implement agreed initiatives.

·        To manage the Computing and Digital Learning department budget, to formulate, monitor and evaluate the department development plan.

·        To lead on the training and development of staff use of Digital Learning across the school

·        In conjunction with members of the SLT be responsible for the Digital Learning and E-safety policies.

An ability to contribute either to the Clubs programme, and/or to the wider active life of the school, will be considered an asset.
