Job overview

Thank you for your interest in joining GES as Lead Teacher of Chemistry. This is a new role that has come about due to the expansion of the Secondary school and the opening of our A level provision. We are looking for someone with the key pieces of experience listed below:

  1. You must be a Chemistry specialist who has experience of teaching A Level Chemistry.
  2. You have taught science at GCSE and have strong results in these subjects.
  3. You have the ability and are willing to teach some KS3 maths (negotiable)
  4. You MUST have the right to work in Switzerland and can start work in August 2022. The school is unable to get a visa for a non EU/Swiss citizen (including those with a UK passport).

If you have these skills and experiences then we would love to receive your application. We are also happy to speak to colleagues that would just like to teach A level and GCSE science. You must have experience in these areas and be a qualified teacher.  Please feel free to email hr@geschool.ch for any questions or if you would like to arrange a conversation with school staff.

As a school we offer a wonderful opportunity for the right member of staff to grow and develop. You will teach wonderful young people who have a desire to learn and succeed, you will join an ambitious and committed team who are striving for excellence and you will live in the most beautiful part of the world.

Please see the attached candidate pack for further information.

We require the successful candidate to start on 1st August 2022.

How to Apply

Applications should be made through our TES school portal in English and consist of a covering letter (no more than two sides of A4) outlining how you meet the personal specification and a completed online application form. The covering letter can be uploaded as part of your application on the TES. Please do not send a CV, as they are not accepted, nor apply outside of the TES platform.

In your application letter you should ensure that you outline your impact and successes, and how you meet the job description and person specification. Due to the large number of applications we get for every role, it may not be possible to contact every candidate but we thank you in advance for your interest in our school. Please contact Ms Aurore Alefsen, via hr@geschool.ch, if you have any questions about the role.

Safer Recruitment

GES is committed to equalities, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We welcome applications from suitable candidates no matter their gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or disability. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers, enhanced national/international criminal records checks and prohibition from teaching checks. In some instances social media/Internet checks may also be carried out.
