Contract Type: Fixed Term. Maternity Cover until February 2025

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week

You should have a degree or equivalent professional qualification and ideally have been registered with the NMC, HCPC or social worker register within the last 3 years.  Experience of working extensively within the health and social care sector is essential to this role.

You will be part of a thriving and exciting health and social care team delivering engaging lessons to level 2 and level 3 learners.

If you are new to teaching we  can support your journey into education and support you taking an introductory course in education at level 3 (The Level 3 AET).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To undertake all forms of pedagogic work which may include classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placements.
  • To ensure the associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking is undertaken.
  • To undertake an annual teaching workload of contact hours for category ‘A’ duties of 828 maximum to 761 minimum (pro rata for part-time) as detailed in the College workload agreement.
  • Personal tutor to number of students offering support, target setting and pastoral support. Sign posting to wellbeing and other support services
  • To deliver an exceptional learner experience through outstanding teaching and assessment
  • Develop relationships with local stakeholders to enhance partnership working for our learners

 

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial relevant subject experience.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Working within a HE/FE environment
  • Industry experience in health and social care is essential for this role
  • A knowledge of health care working, standards and practices
