Role overview of a Citizens School Middle Leader:

A Middle leader is responsible for leading and managing colleagues. This will include leading educational projects, as assigned by their line manager, through facilitating effective collaboration of mentors/colleagues in the design, implementation and evaluation of projects such as engaging in the creation, implementation and delivery of the Citizens Learning Framework; planning and production of resources; leading meetings; delivering training; implementing and reviewing progress meetings; analysing data and outcomes; writing reports and supporting colleagues.

Specific role overview: The Math Curriculum Middle Leader will pledge his/her commitment to help the School achieve its mission, goals, and vision; value community; bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to take thoughtful initiative in a collaborative setting. The Math Curriculum Middle Leader is responsible for making clear and effective decisions about planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum including assessments, and extra-curricular activities; leading and managing Mentor and organizing department resources. Lead Teachers have overall responsibility for the standard of students’ work, outcomes, and behaviour in the department.

Qualifications and experience:

• Strong academic qualifications (Attested) in related field, Bachelor’s with a MA preferred

• Valid teaching credential with five years of teaching experience

• Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and safeguard confidential information

• Sensitivity in meeting the needs of all students

• Demonstrated leadership with experience in curriculum development and co-curricular

programs

• Proficient in IT for productivity purposes and as a tool to facilitate learning in the

classroom
