Macmillan Academy is looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic individual to join our academy from September 2025. Are you searching for a position with purpose? A role to make a real difference? Where your time can be transformational? 

Join us to deliver the MCR Pathways programme. We will be working with an award-winning charity dedicated to ensuring the town’s most vulnerable young people are defined by their talent and never their circumstances.  In this role, you will be an integral part of the school community, liaising with education colleagues and external stakeholders, and delivering the programme to young people.  

Macmillan Academy is situated in Middlesbrough on Teesside and was rated good by Ofsted in the most recent inspection. We have over 1500 students on roll, including 300 in Post 16. Our strong reputation for academic success is matched by our desire to provide a holistic education for every student. 

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Helping to build exceptional individual relationships with young people across Years 7 to 11 and delivering Year 7 & Year 8 group work
  • Helping to drive mentor recruitment. Consistently supporting, actively engaging and motivating mentors from training through the length of their engagement with the programme
  • Actively supporting young people to: identify their talent; build their self-confidence; develop their aspiration and fulfil their potential
  • Collating evidence of young people’s progression quantitative data and qualitative evidence such as young people’s voice and case studies.

Macmillan Academy is an academy based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. 

The school was founded in 1989 as the Macmillan City Technology College, one of the first of 15 City Technology Colleges established in England.  The school converted to academy status in 2006. and is now part of Endeavour Academies Trust.

We are a 11-18 Academy & 6th form college, and offer a huge range of courses and opportunities to our students and staff.
