Job overview
We have a vacancy for a self-employed piano teacher to teach individual piano lessons to primary children, aged 4 to 11 years. At the moment there will be approximately one full day of teaching per week, with the possibility of a second day after October half term. Lessons take place in the purpose-built practice rooms in the music centre at the senior school. This is a self-employed position with contracts made directly between the teacher and parents. There is a small monthly room hire charge. We are a busy and thriving music department with an exciting performance and concert programme.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and we may close recruitment early if we receive sufficient applications. We recommend that applications are submitted early in order to avoid disappointment. Interviews may be held ahead of the closing date.
Closing date: Friday 14th June 2024
The school has rigorous safeguarding and child protection procedures in place and applicants will be required to undertake child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
