Job overview

We are seeking experienced candidates to join our team of educators. This is a great opportunity for committed and enthusiastic Primary Mathematics Specialist Teachers to work with children and to support them in the classroom.

 

The post holders will develop schemes of work and lesson plans for mathematics in line with the National Curriculum. These schemes of work and lessons should be developed based on best practice research, science of learning and the mastery approach for mathematics. They will be expected to deliver high quality lessons to students to maximize the achievement of all students as well as support other teaching staff within the school to develop their skills to deliver high quality mathematics lessons. 

 

*Required qualifications and experience include the following: 

·      Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in education or other relevant area from an accredited university is required; a specialization in Mathematics is preferred

·      Professional teaching qualification from a recognized institution/authority required

·      Experience of leading and supporting the delivery of high-quality mathematics instruction in a primary setting

·      A track record of successful impact as a leader of mathematics

·      Evidence of involvement in transformational change within mathematics

·      Evidence of successful, sustained development of other primary settings in mathematics outside of own setting

·      Experience of working in primary intervention work

·      To be able to analyse and review primary math provision and to provide feedback through high quality reports

·      To be able to design diagnostic resources to identify gaps in pupils’ understanding of mathematics in order to develop intervention strategies that bring about rapid improvement

·      To demonstrate excellent pedagogical ICT proficiency

 

The remuneration package for the successful candidate is offered without deductions. The Cayman Islands Government provides an additional 12% pension contribution and 100% health insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents.
