Job overview

We are looking for a class teacher to join our team of professional, skilled and compassionate staff to work with a small class of SEN students and the wider school community.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • delivering high-quality programmes to our learners
  • contributing to the improvement of pupils’ participation in learning and Academy life  
  • supporting the creation of a calm and productive working environment

We are looking for a committed candidate with these qualifications:

  • previous experience as a classroom teacher (QTS)
  • a desire to work with local children who have social, emotional and mental health needs
  • demonstrable experience in securing successful academic outcomes
  • demonstrable experience in managing challenging behaviour
  • sufficient command of spoken English as defined under the Code of Practice on English language requirements for public sector workers

Bramley Oak Academy, located near Guildford, Surrey is a special school for boys aged 5-11 years with social, emotional and mental health needs. We strive to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and resilience so our students can grow into purposeful young adults who will contribute to society in a positive and meaningful way.

Our caring team works with pupils and their families to create a safe and happy learning environment. All our classes are small and arranged to best meet the individual needs of each child, which we base on their age, academic level and social and emotional needs. 

Since joining London South East Academies Trust in 2020, our improvement journey has been rapid and we are now entering an exciting phase of development as we grow our numbers. To continue this journey, we are looking for new talent to expand our team of talented colleagues.
