School Librarian

Talbot Heath School is currently seeking a literary enthusiast to encourage our students to develop a lifelong love of reading and equip them with invaluable research skills to excel academically. The ideal candidate should possess a deep love for books, be knowledgeable, approachable and have the ability to engage students effectively. Additionally, the role offers the opportunity to cover afternoon prep sessions.

Our ideal candidate will be an exceptional school librarian who is ready to be part of an educational community that creates an environment where our students can flourish. You will be an experienced professional with an enthusiasm and passion for reading and books, which will inspire our students, and have responsibility for managing our school library activities.

As the School Librarian, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our students by curating engaging and diverse collections, organising literacy events, and providing guidance and support to help students discover the magic of books. Your dedication to fostering a culture of curiosity and creativity will not only enrich the lives of our students but also contribute to the overall success of our school community. This is a permanent, term time only role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, with 1 hour for lunch. The salary offered for this role is £19,510.88. £12.69 per hour (£24,745.50 FTE)
