Science Technician

Walsall Academy in Bloxwich, Walsall opened in September 2003. The student enrolment is 1390, with 1,060 in the lower school and a further 330 students in the Sixth Form. The School is one of a number of City Academies established in England prior to the expansion of the Academies Programme in 2010 and was originally sponsored by The Mercers’ Company of the City of London and Thomas Telford School.

We are a founder school of the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust.

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to take on the role of Science Technician within our dynamic Science Department. Science facilities at the school are excellent. The role will be to provide practical and technical support for teaching and learning across our 10 laboratories, including the preparation of materials, setting up of equipment for class practical sessions and maintaining equipment for use. Science qualifications at Level 3 and/or previous knowledge/experience of working within a laboratory environment is desirable. Training and support will be provided by our existing, highly skilled and experienced, technician.
