Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

This is an exciting and rewarding role providing the opportunity to work with a team of professionals to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. To support the growth and development of the Special Educational Needs curriculum the college are seeking the skills and experience of an aspirational SEND practitioner, equipped with leadership skills to manage a team of teachers and support workers. 

The successful candidate will be experienced in working with learners with SEND, and be able to plan an ambitious high needs curriculum, enabling learners to develop skills for successful progression to further study, independent living or employment.

We are seeking candidates who will embrace the complexities and challenges of delivering an outstanding curriculum with positivity and mindfulness, leading and inspiring the curriculum to an outstanding provision against the new Education Inspection Framework.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing a challenging, differentiated and inspirational curriculum that will inspire outstanding teaching for learners with SEND
  • Leading ‘The Chase’ area of provision with the support of a team to meet the educational needs for a group of High Needs learners
  • Be responsible for high quality teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum management within the Learning Area.
  • Ensure high levels of attendance, added value, retention, achievement, student satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for outcomes within the Learning Area: achievement, value added, progression, English and Maths
  • Be responsible for ensuring students are placed on a study programme best suited to developing their skills, knowledge and understanding


Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or relevant qualification related to SEND
  • Qualified Teacher Status (Desirable)
  • Experience of working with young people with High Needs
  • An ability to lead, manage and inspire others
  • Innovative approach to curriculum design and delivery
