The Inclusive Education Trust (IET) is looking to appoint an enthusiastic SENDCo to provide the best education for students at Reigate Valley College (RVC), by ensuring they are supported, engaged and inspired in their learning. 

The successful candidate will have a passion for SEND and experience in supporting vulnerable children. A NASENCO qualification is desired, however we are happy to accept applications from those who are in the process of studying for the qualification.

Previous experience of working within the Alternative Provision sector is preferred but not essential. This role allows for remote/hybrid working, supporting campuses based in Reigate and Redhill, Surrey.

This is a permanent, part-time role, 0.6 FTE (working days to be agreed) to start April or September 2023. Salary is MPS - UPR3 Fringe: £17,600 - £26,951, plus SEN1 £1,430 and TLR 2.2 £2,625 (actual salary).


The successful candidate will be: 

  • An outstanding practitioner and qualified (or in the process of studying) SENDCo.
  • Has a sound knowledge of SEND code of practice
  • Is self motivated and able operate independently 
  • Passionate about inclusion and making sure all students gain an inspirational education. 
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner  with high expectations of students’ achievement and
  • behaviour who is committed to providing high quality learning for all young people.  
  • Able to maintain and drive forward outstanding standards whilst meeting the needs of a very
  • vulnerable group of students. 
  • An excellent communicator, able to work inclusively with students, staff, parents and other
  • stakeholders.
  • Committed to working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Positive, honest, open and responsive to change with a good sense of humour.

About Reigate Valley College (RVC)

Reigate Valley College is a progressive, innovative short stay school, catering for the needs of students who have difficulty accessing a mainstream curriculum.

The College sites are located in close proximity to the towns of Reigate and Redhill, surrounded by the beautiful Surrey countryside, yet accessible by road (M25) and rail. The Secondary campuses are located in Reigate and the Primary campus is located in Redhill.
