SECURITY
- Responsible for opening up and locking up/ securing the premises at the beginning and end of day
- Checking and maintaining security throughout the school premises at all times.
- General site supervision
- Opening and closing buildings (to include all appropriate gates, windows, doors and fire escapes) for the purpose of school use, cleaning, maintenance, emergency services, lettings and out-of-hours school functions.
DELIVERIES AND ORDERS
Acceptance, safe storage and distribution of deliveries
Maintaining a stock of cleaning and sanitary supplies
MAINTENANCE
1. Liaising with the Estates Manager, Bursar and Deputy Heads regarding required maintenance
2.Carry out general maintenance tasks.
3. Arrange for specialist contractors to carry out work on site, supervise contractors whilst carrying out works.
4. Report building defects to the Bursar.
5. Monitoring and controlling the heating and hot water systems to maintain the appropriate service levels.
6. Ordering supplies for repairs and maintenance.
7. Setting out rooms / halls for classes, events, plays and functions as required.
8. Ensuring compliance with all Fire and Health & Safety Regulations as well as ensuring
that all alarms, emergency equipment and emergency exits are fully operational.
9. Run regular fire and lock down drills. Act as Fire Marshall.
GROUNDS
1. Planning and carrying out work required to the garden and grounds and maintaining gardens in good order at all times.
2. Snow clearing/salting duties when necessary for access purposes.
3. Emptying litter bins, clearing litter and sweeping playground areas as well as removal of any dog/fox waste.
4. Ensure prompt and proper refuse collection by waste disposal contractor.
5. Inspecting fabric of the school outside and inside, reporting and arranging for any
defects to be repaired.
6. General maintenance of playground equipment
MINIBUSES
1. Maintenance of school minibuses ensuring their readiness for use when required.
2. Keeping minibus records.
3. Cleaning of minibus exterior and interior, maintaining good appearance at all times.
4. Driving - shuttle runs as and when required.
OTHER
1.Ad hoc projects / work at the discretion of the Head, Deputy Head, Estates Manager and / or Bursar.
2.Cover for the Estates Manager during holidays / any other absence.
