We are looking for a passionate committed leader with the skills, vision and energy to join our Middle Leadership Team. As student Achievement Leader, you will work collaboratively with Tutors and other Middle Leaders and provide support to the Senior Leadership Team. You will be able to demonstrate experience of building effective relationships with both students and staff.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to lead and manage the achievement, progress, attendance and behaviour for a year group ensuring disadvantaged students have a high priority. You will be ably supported by a dedicated Student Welfare Manager and year group SLT link to achieve the highest possible level of support and pastoral care for students.


The ideal candidate will:

 

  • be committed to the Sir Thomas Wharton Academy vision.
  • be an excellent classroom teacher who wishes to combine teaching with raising attainment and progress of a year group.
  • be ready to take on a middle leadership role and is passionate about developing their own leadership skills.
  • have the ability to engage, inspire and build excellent relationships with both students and staff.
  • be a team player and work closely with other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and processes to drive improvement across a year group.
  • be committed to raising standards for all students irrespective of starting point.
  • aspire to champion a year group of young people to overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
  • have a true growth mindset, exceptional work ethic and a sense of humour.
  • have the knowledge and experience of the context in which Sir Thomas Wharton Academy operates.

Sir Thomas Wharton Academy is a good secondary school of over 1100 students with a thriving and growing collaborative Post 16 provision. The Academy joined Maltby Learning Trust on 1st April 2017 and secured an OFSTED Good judgement in September 2021. We are now oversubscribed each year and we are very fortunate to be housed in a new building with state-of-the-art facilities.
