Notre Dame School (Preparatory and Senior) is an Independent Catholic day school for approximately 750 pupils (382 in the Senior School) and has occupied its present site in Cobham since 1937.

The property is jointly owned by the Sisters of the Company of Mary Our Lady and Notre Dame School Cobham and administered by a Board of Governors.

The Company of Mary Our Lady is an international teaching order founded by St. Jeanne de Lestonnac in 1607 and has almost 300 schools, colleges, universities and hospitals spread across twenty-six countries.  The Order is committed to preserving the unique charism of all the educational establishments.

The Head of the Senior School is a member of GSA whilst the Head of the Preparatory School is a member of IAPS.  Both Heads are members of the Catholic Independent Schools Conference.  The Heads enjoy equal status and manage their respective schools whilst working closely together with the Bursary Department and Board of Governors on whole school matters.  The Governors are proud of Notre Dame’s reputation as a successful, mixed-ability school.  It aims to achieve high academic standards in a disciplined and happy atmosphere.  The majority of pupils from the Preparatory School transfer to the Senior School and excellent results achieved at GCSE and A level are indicative of the high level of teaching, care and expectation.

The school is set in 17 acres in a secluded location, yet is easily accessible to local towns and villages as well as SW London.  The original Mansion now houses part of the Preparatory School, but the school has been greatly extended during the last thirty years and has a building plan in place for future development.  Most recently a £1.4 million Learning Resource Centre for the whole school has been completed and a Science Facility consisting of six new laboratories for the Senior School together with extensive new building and refurbishment of the Art facilities.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
