Position Information 

Cobar Public School is a rural, isolated and remote school located 300 km north-west of Dubbo and has a student enrolment of approximately 230. Approximately 45% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and there are also students from 7 different language backgrounds. Our school has a highly motivated staff, which comprises a combination of early career and experienced teachers, who value high expectations in learning with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Our school staff are committed to ongoing professional learning to support their dedication to continual improvement of teaching practice and are strongly focused on student well-being. Cobar Public School facilitates a range of extra curricula activities for our students including various opportunities in performing STEAM, the arts and sport.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach infants and primary with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality differentiated literacy and numeracy programs with expertise in using evidence-based practices to inform teaching practice.

Capacity to proactively support student well-being in order to foster a positive learning environment that enhances student engagement.

Ability to deliver quality programs for students that are Aboriginal or from non-English speaking backgrounds, catering to a diverse student population.

Ability and willingness to contribute to whole school extracurricular activities, such as, debating, public speaking and sport, to support the positive culture within the school.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students, parents, staff and community.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
