Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above post, which offers an excellent opportunity to work in a strong department in this highly successful Sixth Form College. The College holds outstanding Ofsted status and Beacon status - one of the first four Sixth Form Colleges in the country to be awarded this status. The College holds the highest-level ScienceMark status - Platinum Level, for our science and STEM activities and work, the first Sixth Form College in the country to be awarded the Platinum Award level status, and also holds Gold level status ArtsMark.
The post is open to new entrants to the profession (ECTs, qualifying or QTLSs or trainees) as well as experienced teachers. The College has strong induction and staff development programmes, including very good support arrangements for newly qualified, qualifying or trainee staff (please see details of the College Traineeship Scheme). Remission time from timetabled teaching classes is provided for qualifying or trainee staff to support their training and development.
Full time or part time (0.77fte). For a full time post applicants will need to be able to contribute to teaching a second subject eg A level Geography or A level Biology or A level/GCSE Maths or A level Chemistry or A level Physics.

The Sixth Form College Colchester is a non-denominational, mixed sixth-form college for around 3,200 students aged 16 and older. It was founded in 1987 and is located on the site of a former school. The old building at the college dates back to 1912.
In 2011, the Sixth Form College Colchester opened a new language centre; a series of new buildings, including a performing arts centre, have been added in recent years. Among its alumni are television presenter Dermot O’Leary and Blur frontman Damon Albarn.

The Sixth Form College Colchester prides itself on its positive and vibrant atmosphere. It describes itself as a bridge between the worlds of school and of higher education or employment.
The college aims to give students the qualifications, skills and opportunities to make an effective transition into the adult world. It places a strong emphasis on pastoral care, and urges students to adopt a mature approach during their time at the college.
