The Quest Academy is looking for a skilled and passionate Teacher of Drama (with some Music possible) to join our successful Creative Arts Faculty.

The Quest Creative Arts team is very strong and delivers consistently high standards - at KS3, GCSE and A-level. With vibrant and successful school productions, the Faculty is well established and an area of excellent practice - it is a fantastic place to accelerate the development of your own teaching skills, and share ideas on what makes outstanding learning in Drama. We would very much welcome an application from you.

What does the role involve?

The main aim of this role is to deliver exceptional teaching and learning for the fantastic students of our great school. In Drama, we teach students from Year 7 to Year 13. You will be required to actively engage in up-to-date teaching pedagogy and contribute to the continual improvement and refinement of Drama teaching. To do this, you will benefit from 50% additional non-contact time above your standard PPA time specifically to facilitate engagement with improving teaching pedagogy (as is the case for all our teachers).

You will also join one of our 3 Houses as a Form Tutor and through this vital role help students settle for the day and develop the learning attributes required to engage in active learning.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching Drama and is able to share this enthusiasm with their students so they develop a real thirst for knowledge. You will need to be a teacher who is capable of building strong relationships with students and families to help maximise this enthusiasm and thirst for learning.

The job description and person specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of who we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate.

The Quest Academy

At The Quest Academy we know that having great people is our biggest asset and we work very hard to make sure that the posts we offer, the professional development we provide and the environment we create ensure staff are valued, impactful and fulfilled in their roles. Our motto, ‘learning changes lives’ succinctly describes our mission: to improve the life chances of all of our young people by enabling them to achieve outstanding qualifications and develop the personal characteristics necessary to lead fulfilling adult lives. This motto goes further than our students, however. It is also true for staff, and the school community as a whole. We believe that by creating the opportunity and environment in which staff can flourish, they too can enjoy transformational learning. In essence, this is what makes The Quest Academy such an enjoyable and fulfilling place to teach. If you share our passion and drive for education, and would like to join us on our journey, we would very much welcome an application from you.
