Full time or part time from September 2024 on a permanent basis.

We are recruiting for a Teacher of Geography to join the successful and thriving Geography Department here at Cleeve from September 2024. We are very flexible regarding full-time or part-time.

We are a teacher training lead hub school, which brings opportunity and mirrors being a centre of excellence for staff training. On appointment, you will be supported by a successful Head of Department, and a broader team of professionals, depending on your stage of career development. We pride ourselves on being the school of choice for ECTs.

The potential applicants would be able to demonstrate experience of effective teaching and learning strategies, and a willingness to contribute to the subject curriculum. Flexibility and the ability to innovate are desirable qualities, along with energy and capacity for hard work. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of what

effective Teaching & Learning looks like for children of all abilities and be committed to enabling all students to access the curriculum in order to fulfil their academic potential. The ability to teach in other areas of the Humanities or Social Sciences would be useful, but not a defining feature of this appointment.

The Geography Department is a highly respected and extremely successful department within Cleeve School, and the teachers work closely together to develop effective teaching and learning across the curriculum. The department has a strong and committed team who share the same vision of delivering a high quality curriculum and a consistent drive to improve all students’ progress throughout key stages 3,4 and 5. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion

Ofsted

“The overall achievement of students is good, and outstanding for some. It is outstanding for those students who need extra help and in some subjects, including mathematics. Students’ achievement in English and in the sixth form is good and improving.”

“Much teaching in all subjects and in the sixth form is at least good, with a significant proportion that is outstanding.”
