Job overview

Are you an inspirational, hard-working, EYFS practitioner looking for the next step in your career, but want to remain rooted in Early Years?

  • Do you want to work in a happy, successful and forward-thinking school and Trust?
  • Are you an experienced Early Years teacher and leader ready for the step up into an exciting leadership role for our Trust?
  • Would you like to develop your leadership skills across our Trust’s EYFS provisions?
  • Have you the vision, commitment and enthusiasm to help us to continue to develop and deliver the best early years’ experience for every child?

Archway Learning Trust are excited to appoint an EYFS Lead Practitioner who will lead, inspire and support EYFS teachers across our Trust. The post holder will be based for three days per week at Bluecoat Primary Academy where they will be the Early Years Leader based in the classroom. For the remaining two days per week they will work across our three primary schools.

Archway Learning Trust is at an exciting period of growth within the primary phase and this role will be key in the continual development of delivering exemplary education to the children and communities we serve. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has an excellent knowledge of effective EYFS practice, can lead by example and can build effective relationships with pupils and staff to enable them to thrive.

The successful candidate will be an innovative, experienced EYFS teacher who can raise expectations through the standard of their own teaching or a current EYFS Lead who is ready for a more senior role.

We are looking for someone who possess the skills to motivate those around them and have an inclusive approach to teaching. This post would be ideal for an experienced EYFS practitioner who is able to develop EYFS teams, build on the existing strengths and share their passion for early years education within their own and other settings. The successful candidate will need to be inspiring, confident and able to think creatively and strategically.

The post holder will be responsible for EYFS curriculum and pupil development, sharing creative and inspirational practice in order to provide our children with the best possible start in their education.

This role will involve close working with the school and Trust leadership teams, and will deliver school improvement, leading by example and teaching to a high standard, coaching and developing colleagues and sharing best practice. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders are essential in this key role in our school and Trust.

The post holder will be joining the academy and Trust at an exciting stage of their journey. Bluecoat Primary has received recent successes in Ofsted and SIAMS inspections and has a strong reputation within the community, including an outstanding judgement for EYFS and Leadership. The academy is a vibrant, positive, inclusive and nurturing Church of England Academy with highly dedicated, talented and hardworking staff. The school has strong leaders, structures and curriculum in place and is in a position to offer support to other schools within the Trust.

To be the best that we can be, we need to employ the best. If you are passionate about Early Years, a creative and strategic thinker and have a commitment to delivering high standards of teaching and learning to our youngest pupil then please call Bluecoat Primary to speak to the Head Teacher to find out more about this fantastic opportunity or to arrange a visit. We would highly recommend a visit to our EYFS environment, schools and to meet the team prior to application.

Candidates should pay attention to the job description/person specification and explain within their application how they meet the criteria, whilst also describing what they will bring to the post from their own knowledge and experience.

We are looking for someone who can bring passion, creativity and a sense of purpose to our enthusiastic, forward-thinking staff team.

The children we serve at Bluecoat Primary are from very diverse backgrounds and so our approach needs to be flexible, understanding and adaptive whilst staying true to our strong Christian ethos and maintaining focus on our core values.
