We expect the successful candidate to work with the Principal, in leading the Senior Leadership Team, to build on the foundations already in place so that student outcomes improve significantly and sustainably.  

The key responsibilities of this role will be to provide visible leadership and have significant impact by strategic management.

The Vice Principal will lead, motivate and inspire students, staff, parents and the wider community, to ensure every student achieves ambitiously well and gains the knowledge and qualifications to succeed in life and at work. It is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with the vision, experience and energy to shape a forward-thinking approach to leading a school. We have ambitious plans for the future of Stockport Academy and creating an academic ethos is at the centre of this.

Stockport Academy opened in September 2007 and moved into a new state of the art building in 2008.
Stockport Academy strives for excellence across its curriculum. We teach a broad and balanced range of subjects including all the key areas of the National Curriculum. Students receive an all round education and are encouraged to pay particular attention to the core skills of English, Mathematics, Science and ICT.

All academies have a specialism. At Stockport Academy, this is science supported by a theme of business and enterprise. This specialism reflects the needs and interests of our students and the employment prospects in the area.

A full grounding in business and enterprise ensures that students are prepared for the working world.  The Science element of the specialism will include all the traditional areas of the subject as well as more vocational ones, such as Health and Social Care and Sports Science.
