Vision for Education are looking to employ a SEND Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in Year 1 at a school in Newcastle. The school are wishing to employ an experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident with controlling challenging behaviour and undertaking personal care. This is a part time role, working three days per week, 08:30-15:30, beginning January 2022. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.

The role

The successful candidate will be able to support a child with diverse needs, aiding their learning and development. The Teaching Assistant must have a calming manner and be able to offer a supportive environment through a hand’s on and active approach to learning. Alongside, supporting the child on a 1:1 basis, the ideal candidate must communicate effectively with teachers to ensure the child receives the best possible care and opportunities to make them feel safe and understood.

Requirements

To be considered for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Hold a minimum of Level 3 Qualification in Teaching and Learning. 

• Have a genuine interest in providing outstanding care and provision. 

• Be confident with supporting pupils with diverse needs. 

• Have experience of working with children with SEN.

• Be able to use your own initiative when dealing with challenging situations.
