Activities Co-ordinator & Resident Assistant Matron

Closing date: noon on Friday 17 May 2024 or earlier

Westminster Abbey Choir School is an extraordinary institution dedicated to the education and care of approximately 30 talented boy choristers of Westminster Abbey. As the only choir school exclusively for singing boys, we provide a unique educational environment characterised by academic excellence, musical proficiency, and a supportive community ethos. Located in the tranquil surroundings of Dean’s Yard in Central London, our school offers a warm, cooperative atmosphere, where flexibility and teamwork are integral to the boys’ busy timetable.

·       We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, pastorally aware Activities Co-ordinator & Resident Assistant Matron to join the staff team in one of England’s foremost Choir Schools.

·       You will work closely with the teaching staff and the Day Matron & Housekeeper to devise an exciting and engaging programme of evening and weekend activities for the boys and to support the provision of medical care and the smooth running of the domestic side of the residential aspect of school.

·       This role is a new role that has been created as part of a restructuring of the existing pastoral arrangements for pupils to ensure that the boys have the very best pastoral and medical support at all times.

Further information about the role is available in the attached Application Pack.

On-line application (via TES) should be received as soon as possible, as the advert may close earlier than the published closing date of noon on 17 May 2024, if suitable candidates are identified. Enquiries can be sent to: applications@westminster-abbey.org. Interviews and assessments are likely to take place during the week commencing 20 May 2024.

Westminster Abbey is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk. To prevent them from harm, we undertake appropriate checks on staff and volunteers and require them to complete relevant safeguarding training and an enhanced criminal record check. Westminster Abbey is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
