Job overview
Due to the current postholder relocating out of London, we are looking to appoint an innovative and inspirational non-class based Assistant Headteacher with a 0.4 teaching commitment, responsible for Teaching and Learning across the mainstream primary (2-11yrs). The position will suit an outstanding, inspirational middle/senior leader, or an experienced teacher who is looking to move into leadership, who has the drive to support an ambitious leadership team to further develop the pedagogy across the school. This person will use current research and evidence to ensure teachers are implementing the curriculum according to Rosenshine’s Principles and innovating practice through our coaching/mentoring and Teacher Research Group development models.
We have just had an Ofsted inspection (May 2024) and we are really excited to receive the report validating our strengths and ethos and values that are evident across our provision.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- is an exemplary, outstanding classroom practitioner and is able to lead experienced colleagues
- has proven experience of leading a phase or Key Stage
- has the ability to work as part of a forward looking strategic leadership team
- has a deep understanding of how EAL and SEND children learn
- can coach/mentor and develop pedagogy in classrooms and across phases
- is evidence informed and research driven
- is able to support teachers to ensure accelerated pupil progress
- is a proven, successful team player with motivational and interpersonal skills

We are looking to appoint the best from across the Primary range. The successful applicant will take up the post in September 2024. The AHT role is perfect for aspirational candidates wishing to develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment based around coaching and mentoring.
The school is set in Netley Campus which includes Woodlands ASD resource base, Robson House PRU, Outreach and Language & Communication Team and an Adult Learning Centre. We are a large, culturally and socially diverse school with a strong inclusive ethos, driven by a committed and happy staff. The school is set in Regents Park estate, an area which has one of the highest poverty indices in England. We are very proud to have a centre for children who have Autism, and Acorns; our provision for two year olds.
