Assistant Principal

Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect.  The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. 

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational leader to join a dynamic and high-performing Senior Leadership Team.  You will be an outstanding professional who is as passionate about student data and progress as you are about standards of behaviour and tutoring.  We are looking for a highly committed and resilient team player, with a passion for high standards and an understanding of the strategies required to motivate and inspire staff and students.  You will be an aspirational and academically qualified person who will share their high expectations of themselves and therefore help students to fully appreciate their experiences at the College.  

This is a new post within the College which is being created to enhance the skills of the current Leadership Team.  We believe that this is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of Sir Harry Smith Community College.  We want to attract a colleague with appropriate experience, passion and drive. As a result, we expect the successful candidate to make a real difference to the aspirations and life chances of the students we serve, supporting us on our journey to outstanding.  

As a senior member of staff you will contribute to the overall Leadership and Management of the College and be proactive in promoting its aims and supporting an ethos that promotes achievement and high standards. 

The College is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full, satisfying role in society.
