Assistant SENDCo

We are now recruiting for an Assistant SENDCo to co-lead, alongside our existing Assistant SENDCo, our committed and passionate SEND Department under the strategic leadership of our SENDCo.

We are looking for a experience colleague who has a genuine passion for working with students with SEND to assist in leading and managing the provision of SEND learning support and ensuring high quality learning, teaching and behaviour. You will be confident to manage the effective use of resources to achieve high standards of achievement and progress for all students.

You will work with all stakeholders, including students and their teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure that SEND students' needs are met within an inclusive environment that allows them to access the National Curriculum in accordance with the provisions of the SEN Code of Practice (2014) and Disability Discrimination Act.

The successful candidate will be experienced and confident in delivering support, advice and training as well as planning, developing and implementing appropriate interventions and curriculum courses. You will work in partnership with our other Assistant SENDCo to provide Line Management and provide clear guidance and oversight of the Teaching Assistants in conjunction with the SENDCo.

We are looking for a colleague who is an excellent communicator with proven ability to assess, plan, support and monitor the progress of children with SEND. You will have excellent attention to detail and experience of completing referrals and other relevant paperwork and a meticulous approach to record keeping.
