The Governors of St Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Academy (a popular, co-educational 11-16 school) are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Attendance Officer to join the team in September 2024.
If you have a resilient ‘can do’ attitude and a calm and proactive approach, this role could be perfect for you.
St Augustine is an Academy within the St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust. We're on a journey to excellence, committed to nurturing both spiritual and academic growth. Join our dedicated pastoral team and contribute to a vibrant learning environment rooted in Catholic values.
About the role:
The successful candidate will work alongside the current Attendance Officer to provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet our attendance targets.
What is expected:
You will promote positive attitudes by pupils and their families towards education and ensure that parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities, particularly where there is persistent absence.
Making unsupervised home visits and attending meetings, both at school and off-site, are key to the role.
You will have an understanding of the needs of pupils and their families and have a passion for supporting students both spiritually and academically.
This is an exciting opportunity to join St Augustine’s in its journey to Outstanding.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. To arrange a visit, please contact the school office.
