We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands that behaviour is communication and is willing to work with children to explore ‘why’ they behave in certain ways
  • Has an ability to engage with a holistic view of children
  • Is patient, nurturing and proactive in their thinking
  • Is committed to making a difference to children’s lives
  • Has the ability to support our classroom teachers in addressing the needs of all pupils and in particular those students displaying challenging behaviours
  • Can plan and innovate individual and group programmes to support skills for learning, positive behaviour, social and emotional development and healthy life styles
  • Has relevant qualifications and training i.e. NVQ/CACHE in working with children
  • Has excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
  • Has an ability to foster strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers and other professionals
  • Has drive, enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Wants to contribute to a whole school effort to give all children the best possible start in life
