Job overview

This unique role will allow the successful candidate to change the lives of young people as they support them into employment through a pioneering programme which balances school with long-term work placements.

We are looking for a dynamic, well-organised, self-starter to join our Sixth Form team and to develop links with local businesses, to arrange work placements, and to support students through the extended placements. Our Pre-Apprenticeship programme sees pupils in school for half the week and in a work placement for the other half. Starting in September 2024, our first cohort of 27 students are already enjoying successful work placement experiences, and some have been offered jobs or apprenticeships already.

The successful candidate will support effective and efficient administration to the sixth form, and careers provisions. The Business Engagement Coordinator will be confident in communicating via email, telephone and face-to-face, they will be well organised and will support prospective employers, students and parents.

We expect the successful candidate to take an active interest in understanding the processes and priorities of being part of a dynamic sixth form with the ability to work as part of a team as well as having a caring, positive attitude and being a good listener.

Saracens High School has a family ethos and is committed to supporting staff in this rewarding job, while recognising the stress it puts upon us. Our family ethos focuses on character development and making memories, as much as outstanding academic attainment. Last year, KS4 progress was in the top 20% nationally, and our contextual value-added was in the top 7%.

Our aim is to develop aspirational life-long learners, who will thrive in their chosen career path, embracing our values, and demonstrating a strong moral purpose and a desire to make a positive contribution to society and their local community. (Hear Paul Dix speak about Saracens High School here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Utm3ocGeII)
