Job Title:  Temporary Teacher of Chemistry - Summer Term 2022

Salary range: Ruthin School has its own pay scale  

Ruthin School is a co-educational boarding and day school for students aged 11 – 18 located in North Wales in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Ruthin School attracts highly academic and talented young people from around the globe. The school is particularly successful at helping students gain entrance to Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities. 

Post: We would like to appoint a Teacher of Chemistry for one term (19th April - 30th June) 

The science faculty  is core to the success of the school. The majority of students attending Ruthin School for A levels will take all or some of the sciences. In some years our chemistry specialists support in excess of 50 students to achieve Chemistry A level each year. The results in Chemistry at GCSE and A level are outstanding. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative practitioner for one term due to a colleague's transfer to a new post during this academic year.  The position could lead to a full time permanent position for the right candidate.  

Promote and maintain high professional standards within the role and wider school community in support of the aims and ethos of the school.

Provide effective and proactive academic support to students within the school in order to promote the academic progress of the students. 

Assess, record and report on student academic progress in accordance with school’s policy and practice in order to ensure all students are appropriately monitored. 

Responsible for ensuring the safe and secure environment for students in accordance with legislative and best practice requirements. 

Actively promote and deliver the Pastoral, Health, Social Education of students in the school.

Actively and effectively attend and participate in relevant meetings and successfully liaise with colleagues in order to ensure students are effectively taught the Chemistry curriculum.

Contribute to the student experience at Ruthin School by ensuring that the students enjoy their time within the  lessons and beyond the classroom.
