JOB DESCRIPTION: DP Chinese Language and Literature Teacher
The role of the Chinese teacher at CIS includes planning, classroom instruction,
assessment, grading and collaborative work with other Chinese teachers. It may also
include responsibilities of a homeroom (pastoral care) and coaching or other student
club.
Main Working Relationships: Chinese teachers, Grade level leads,
Subject level leads, Principals
Main Responsibilities:
The teacher has responsibility for teaching Chinese Language and
Literature in the IB DP and MYP programme.
Requirements:
• Bachelor and master degree in Chinese Language and Literature.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in teaching DP Chinese language and
literature.
• Proficient English to communicate orally and in writing
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to be an advisor and
work with teams
• Ability to multitask and handle stress
Professional Responsibilities:
● Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students in accordance with
CIS administrative policies and divisional procedures.
● Know, understand, and support the school’s Mission, Vision, Core
Values, and Learning Principles
● Meet the expectations as outlined in the Job Description and the CIS
Teacher Standards.
● Develop and implement an Individual Work Plan (IWP) under the
direction of the Principal
● Create opportunities to upskill understanding of the CIS IB DP and
MYP curriculum.
