What we are looking for:


Applications are invited from qualified and enthusiastic educators to join the teaching staff of St John's Catholic Primary School, Walkerston in the position of Classroom Teacher (Year 1). This is a full-time contract position, commencing from 8 July 2024 until 19 January 2025.

  • Appropriate qualities, knowledge and skills to provide a relevant and holistic education

About us


St John’s Walkerston is 14 km inland from the large coastal city of Mackay. Residential development in Walkerston is expanding and demographic projections indicate that this trend will continue. St John’s presently caters for its students in a mix of one and two streams in year level structures, with a future projection of two classes of each grade.

Mandatory Requirements 



  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and the ability to obtain approved Queensland College of Teachers Registration
