This is an exciting opportunity to join Westcountry Schools Trust, currently employing approximately 2000 staff and growing. We are a dynamic organisation with our students and staff at our heart. We are seeking to recruit either 2x Clerk to the Governing Bodies for 3x locations or 1x Clerk to the Governing Bodies covering all 3x locations. The Trust is ideally looking for individual(s) with previous clerking or reasonable experience.
The role of Clerk to the Governing body will be expected to:
Provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. The new regulations require governing bodies to have regard to advice from the clerk in regards to exercising the governing body functions:
• Provide effective administrative support to the governing body and its committees
• Ensure the governing body is properly constituted in line with Trust requirements
• Manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements
We are offering the following job opportunities, which may be negotiable for the right candidate(s)
• 2 individuals to undertake 2x posts being; Clerk to the Local Governing Bodies for the Primaries or Clerk to the Local
Governing Body for the Secondary; or
• 1x post covering all 3 locations

The Westcountry Schools Trust is a tight knit family of schools based around natural geographical proximity in the South West. Formed in 2017, the WeST family currently consists of 26 schools, of which 7 are secondary and 19 primary.
WeST is an outward looking, multifaceted trust that operates in partnership with the RSC Office, Teaching School Council, numerous schools, Higher Education Institutions and employers across the South West and beyond. Indeed, we are proud that within WeST there is a cohort 1 Teaching School that has been effectively supporting children beyond our own boundaries for nearly a decade.
WeST is a cross-phase family of local schools that share a commitment to improving the lives of young people in our community.
