Job overview

Learning Academies Trust are seeking three meticulous, hard-working, and driven Clerk to Governors to individually support Ford Primary School, Hyde Park School and Widewell Primary School. The Clerk to Governors will provide a professional clerking service to the school’s Local Governing Body (LGB) and its committees. The Clerk to Governors will support the efficient and effective running of the school’s processes and ensure the local governance arrangements are appropriate and work effectively.

The positions can be filled separately by three candidates, or one candidate can apply to undertake all roles.

The Clerk is required to work irregular and unsociable weekday hours. They will be required to attend meetings in the evening and daytime (weekdays and term time only).

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in a clerking role
  • Knowledge of school systems: structures, accountability and funding
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of governance legislation, procedures and regulations relevant to an educational setting and organisation
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English grade C or above and be able to illustrate good literacy and numeracy skills.
