Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Cover Supervisor to provide proactive supervision and delivery of set work to classes of absent teachers to support the continued progress of our students. Although the roles will largely be secondary based, there may be some cover required in our primary phases also. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to form part of a growing team of staff in a relatively new and exciting setting. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is considering returning to teaching or considering teaching as a profession.

A high standard of education, including ICT knowledge is required, as well as the ability to be flexible and resilient.

King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are highly aspirational for our students and believe in the highest standards of teaching and learning along with a strong sense of teamwork.

The role is for 32.5 hours per week (usually 8.30am to 3.30pm) Monday to Friday, Term time only plus 2 days.

Our all-through school opened in a superb new building in September 2018 and we have grown year on year. Our first Year 11 students sat their GCSEs during Summer 2023, we are incredibly proud of the results they achieved. In addition to the secondary phase, we also have two primary phases set across two sites, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO). From September 2024, we have students from year N to year 6 in primary and year 7 through to year 12 in secondary. In September 2023 we opened our 6th form provision.

King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

King's Academy Binfield is a new all-through school within The Kings Group Academies.

Our mission is to provide high quality education within a small community of outstanding schools in the UK that will deliver a transformative learning experience to all our students within the context of a global community of schools.

KGA has at its core the pursuit of the very highest standards both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all students can exceed their expectations no matter what their prior attainment and experience. In a KGA academy no student will be labelled, we will treat them all as intelligent individuals. Through our ethos, our extended curriculum, our entrepreneurial approach and international dimension, we will ensure students develop into confident, rounded individuals, equipped for life in an ever changing world.

We pride ourselves on listening and responding to the needs of our partner schools and guarantee any school within KGA the opportunity to help shape the future development of our MAT. In a King’s Group Academy, pupils will be able to achieve their personal ambitions and academic goals, with the added advantage and motivation of working alongside peers from other King’s schools around the world.

At KGA our aim is to build clusters of excellence, blending the best of British education with the experience and success gained in our international King’s Group schools. We see staff as our most valuable resource and our innovative approach to CPD enables them to fulfil their career potential, as well as prepare our pupils for a successful future.

King’s Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by Sir Roger Fry and includes nine outstanding schools both abroad and in the UK. With this excellent foundation, King’s Group Academies has been invited by the DfE to develop a MAT and use the expertise of our team to build and provide ongoing support to small networks of outstanding academies.

We share a determination to make a positive difference to the future of our young people, their families and the wider community, as well as to the careers of our staff. This is your invitation to join us.
