Cover Supervisor with a PE Specialism

Salary: Grade 6, Points 7-12 (Meridian Trust), £18,384 – £19,994 (Actual Annual Salary)

Hours of work: 32.5 Hours (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri 8.45am - 3.30pm and Tues 8.45am – 4.45pm (additional hours for fixtures or after-school clubs).

Term Time Only plus 5 dedicated staff training days (39 Weeks)

We wish to appoint a Cover Supervisor with a PE specialism. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly across all levels, be able to deliver different curriculum subjects and be confident in managing behaviour. As a PE specialist, the post-holder will contribute to the delivery of lessons and extra-curricular PE and sport in the school and therefore a level 2 coaching qualification would be a distinct advantage.

This is a unique role as, in the first term, you would be delivering our PE curriculum alongside our existing PE staff. In January, we have a new member of PE staff joining us, so the role would become less specialised in PE but involve covering lessons across the school (including PE) to manage staff absence, meetings etc. We are certain to be recruiting for PE teachers over the coming years and this is a fantastic chance to put yourself at the top of our recruitment shortlist.

This is an opportunity to join our brand-new school, which opened in September 2023, and a chance to help us build on the excellent foundation we have put in place so far. We only have Year 7 in our initial intake but in September 2024, we will begin the process of introducing a vertical tutoring model, mixing the Year 7s and Year 8s together to create a family ethos and allow leadership opportunities for students. Eventually, we will have six houses, including a 6th form house.
