The Fallibroome Academy is an excellent school with a first-class reputation, both locally and across the wider region. Our academic record places us in the top rank of schools nationally and our broader educational provision is equally impressive.

This is an exciting time to be joining our school. Following the promotion of our current Deputy Headteacher to the role of Headteacher, we are now seeking to appoint a new and dynamic Deputy Headteacher who has the experience and drive needed to build on our proud record of success and lead us through the next phase of our development.

Our enviable location in a desirable part of Cheshire, close to the Peak District National Park and within easy reach of Manchester and Chester, makes this an attractive place in which to work and it is undoubtedly as exciting place in which to learn.

If you wish to be considered for this vacancy you should apply via Face Ed and include the following information:

  • A description of the key contributions that you have made in your career to date
  • Evidence that demonstrates the impact you have had in your current and previous roles
  • The particular strengths that you could bring to Fallibroome if your application is successful.

We ask all applicants to apply through Face-Ed; the Trust's recruitment software. This enables us to carry out safer recruitment checks seamlessly. For ease, we suggest:

  1. Face-Ed is cloud based software and we strongly recommend that you prepare your main application content in a package like MS Word/Notepad and copy and paste it into the Face-Ed application form in the relevant sections. If the connection is lost while inputting, it can mean you lose the information already entered.
  2. If you get a message saying "Validation Error", this isn't a software fault. It means you have entered data in a format that wasn't expected and it is causing a problem with saving. This might mean you have entered words in a box that expects numbers, for example. It is useful to go back and check for those errors.

If you wish to discuss the vacancy with the current Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher or visit the school, please contact their PA: Amanda Childs (chi@fallibroome.org.uk)

The Fallibroome Academy is a thriving and successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school. We currently have over 1500 students, including a flourishing Sixth Form of more than 300 students which continues to grow as we expand the range of courses available to students. We are hugely popular in the local area and the number of applications for entry into Year 7 regularly exceeds the places available. Our intake is non-selective and varied, including children from a wide range of homes and backgrounds and from up to 27 different primary schools.

The school is situated in a very pleasant area on the edge of Macclesfield within easy reach of the Peak District National Park and with good access to Manchester, Chester and North Wales. Adjoining the school is Macclesfield Leisure Centre, with its excellent pool, athletics track and other sporting facilities. We are fortunate to have extensive playing fields, creating a feeling of space, and the school site is most attractive with open farmland to the rear and views of the nearby hills. By any standards, the school is a desirable working environment with well-designed buildings and an enviable situation on the western side of the town.

Fallibroome originally opened in 1978 in temporary accommodation and moved to the present site as a new purpose-built comprehensive school in September 1979. Following a period of six years’ grant maintained status from 1993, we became a Foundation School in 1999 and were approved as an Academy in September 2010.
