The Cavendish school is at an exciting stage in its development, with many opportunities on the horizon. Last year, the Mathematics Department made a significant improvement to their results achieving 71% Grade 4 and above (from 53% Grade C above the year before) and are striving to make even greater improvements this year. In addition to this, A level Further Mathematics was introduced to the curriculum to compliment the established A level Maths programme.
We are seeking to appoint an engaging, enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Maths to work alongside our Director of Learning and join a professional, successful and supportive faculty team, who are committed to student learning and the sharing of ideas, good practice and innovative resources.
You will become part of a well-resourced faculty with your own (recently refurbished) classroom, complete with visualizer and an interactive whiteboard with Smart Board technology.
The successful candidate will have;
- A passion for teaching mathematics and providing students with the feedback they need to improve (the Department has adopted the RAG123 system for marking);
- Experience of teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 Mathematics; Experience of teaching A level Further Mathematics (this would be an advantage but is not essential);
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons;
- The highest aspirations & expectations for the students, the staff and the school;
- Good interpersonal skills with a warm sense of humour.
