Job overview

We require an energetic and creative Design Technology Technician to provide day to day support with the delivery of the Technology curriculum to our students aged 11-16.

Wardle Academy is part of the Watergrove Trust. The Trust is situated in the West Pennine area, where community and faith schools work in partnership to serve our diverse local area. We share the same drive and determination to promote the best possible academic standards, whilst developing young people of unique character, preparing them for their lives ahead.  

Wardle Academy is located in a semi-rural setting serving the local community. The Academy is easily accessible, within close proximity to the M62 motorway and Smithy Bridge train station. 

The role will involve assisting and supporting the teaching and learning of design technology to ensure learners’ make progress. More specifically: cleaning and maintenance of workshop equipment; administrative support with regard to health & safety; sourcing and preparing equipment and tools; assisting and guiding students during lessons. Experience does not necessarily have to be school based however previous support work in an educational setting would be advantageous.
