Sir William Perkins's School are looking for a well-qualified, dynamic, driven and highly organised Director of Sport to lead the Physical Education department.

As Director of Sport you will ensure the continued delivery of high-quality teaching and play a key role in leading and managing the strategic direction and development of Sport. You will take overall responsibility for leading and line managing the teaching and coaching staff in the department and for managing the academic provision of Physical Education and development of the curriculum. 

The Physical Education department consists of four full-time and three part-time members of teaching staff who work alongside an excellent team of Sports Coaches. The department is housed in a purpose-built Sports facility consisting of a Sports Hall, Fitness Suite, Dance Studio, three Netball Courts, a training-sized Hockey Astro and a large Sports Field. We also utilise River Bourne Health Club in Chertsey to support our Physical Education Programme.

All students are timetabled for Physical Education and the school offers sports scholarships to elite sports students at both Year 7 and Year 12.

The School has a strong House System and sport features highly in this programme of events, including the Annual Sports Day as well as Inter House competitions.

A broad and balanced Physical Education co-curricular programme is on offer including clubs in netball, hockey, rowing, badminton, tennis, football, gymnastics, dance, trampolining, athletics and Pilates. In addition, we offer exciting holiday camps for both netball and hockey.

About the school

Sir William Perkins’s School is a high-performing, academically selective, independent girls’ school for approximately 600 students aged 11 – 18 years. The Head is both a member of HMC and GSA. It is located on an attractive 12- acre site situated on the outskirts of Chertsey, a two-minute walk from the railway station and very near to the junction of the M3 and M25.
