Salary Leadership L8 – 12 (£56,082 to £61,882 per annum)

Required from September 2024, the Governors of this high achieving, oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint an exceptional and enthusiastic classroom practitioner to lead our highly successful English Department. The Department enjoys excellent results across all key stages and is a popular option at A level.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a committed team of staff with capacity to build on the successes so far. The successful candidate will have some line management responsibility for other relevant curriculum areas and will be required to teach across the full age and ability range.

As an inspirational leader, you will have a proven track record in raising achievements and standards across all key stages and abilities. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a commitment to outstanding results and have the ability to lead, inspire and motivate others.

What can we offer you?

  • Employee discount scheme (offering cycle to work scheme, gym membership, money saving offers across hundreds of the UK’s favourite high-street and online retailers, home and electrical items).
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (Education Support).
  • On-site parking and access to canteen.
  • Teacher Pension Scheme.
  • A supportive organisation with a commitment to professional development and wellbeing.

St John Fisher is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust, which consists of two high schools and 14 primary schools.

If you would like the opportunity to meet us or have an informal discussion, please contact Paula Deacon, Office Manager at office@sjfchs.org.uk to arrange this.

St John Fisher is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

In line with KCSiE 2023, we will carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This may help identify any matters that are publicly available online, which we might want to explore with you at interview.
