As a Founders Matron you will be responsible to and work under the direction of the two Founders Housemistresses and masters (FHms).

The holder of this post is responsible for offering evening support to the Founders’ team across all two Houses on a Sunday evening and on the return from Half Terms.

The boarding house is a pupil’s home away from home so your aim is to help to maintain an atmosphere in which the pupils lead purposeful, busy lives and yet find time to relax and enjoy one another’s company within a happy and caring environment. 

You will also liaise with the Senior Matron and School Nurses, to oversee pupil health and wellbeing. 

Hours of Work 

Term time Sundays: 16.00 – 23:00 (with 30 minutes unpaid break)

Half Term Sunday Return to School: 16.00 – 23.00 

Benenden offers its own generous pay structure, responsibility allowances and benefits. Staff are provided with meals whilst on duty, catering for all tastes and dietary requirements. The school’s leisure facilities, including wonderful grounds, a fitness gym and swimming pool are also available for staff to use.
