Job overview

Monmouth School for Girls seeks to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced graduate teacher of DT to work with Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 to cover a maternity leave from 22nd February 2021. The successful candidate will be required to work principally with resistant and also compliant (textiles) materials.

A working knowledge of Techsoft and Microsoft 365/Teams is essential. DATA accreditation and a working knowledge of Solidworks would be advantageous.

A contribution to the wider life of the school, both in pastoral and extra-curricular activities, is expected.

We offer a friendly and supportive working environment. The Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools have their own salary scale. The school is a member of the Boarding Schools’ Association and the Girls’ Schools Association and the Principal is a member of HMC.

Monmouth School For Girls is an independent day and boarding school based in Monmouthshire for girls aged 11-18. 

The school was founded in 1892 and is part of the family of Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools, which owe their existence to William Jones, a liveryman of the Haberdashers’ Company, who bequeathed funds to establish a school in 1614. Entry to the school is selective and, where possible, pupils are interviewed.
