Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable GCSE and A-Level Business Teacher to join our dynamic faculty at Korean International School. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons to students at both GCSE and A-Level, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their business studies. Additionally, the candidate will serve as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and guidance to a designated group of students.


Responsibilities:


Teaching:

Prepare and deliver well-structured lessons in accordance with the curriculum and course specifications, ensuring they cater to students' varying abilities and learning styles.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active student participation, critical thinking, and collaborative learning.


Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, resources, and assessment strategies to facilitate effective learning outcomes.


Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress, enabling them to identify areas for improvement and develop their skills.


Curriculum Development:

Keep up-to-date with changes in the GCSE and A-Level Business syllabi, staying abreast of educational advancements and best practices in the field.


Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Business curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant, engaging, and aligned with the needs of students.


Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and teaching strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the Business department.


Form Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Act as a form tutor for a designated group of students, providing pastoral support and guidance in their academic, personal, and social development.
  • Establish positive relationships with students and their parents/guardians, maintaining open lines of communication to address any concerns or issues.
  • Monitor and track the progress, attendance, and behavior of form students, intervening when necessary to support their well-being and academic success.
  • Organize and lead form activities and parent-teacher meetings, promoting a sense of community and engaging parents/guardians in their child's education.


Professional Development:

  • Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attending relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
  • Stay informed about educational policies, trends, and research related to Business education and pastoral care, integrating new knowledge and approaches into teaching practice.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, sharing insights, experiences, and ideas to contribute to the overall improvement of the school.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Studies or a related field.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE) or equivalent teaching certification preferred.
  • Specialization or experience in teaching GCSE and A-Level Business.
  • Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the respective examination board requirements (Cambridge).
  • Proven experience in delivering effective and engaging lessons to students of varying abilities.
