Job overview
We are looking for an experienced governance professional to join E-ACT’s Directorate of Corporate Services to take forward and embed governance good practice across the trust.
E-ACT is a leading multi-academy trust responsible for over 15,000 pupils across 25 academies in England. Located in some of our most deprived communities, over two thirds of our academies are now rated Good or better by Ofsted.
Our mission and values
Our mission is to give all of our pupils an outstanding education which enables them to explore, think, discover, create and achieve and so realise their full potential.
By focussing on teaching and learning, developing inspiring curricula and embedding a culture based on our values of thinking big, doing the right thing and showing team spirit, we exist to improve academies and schools.
A leader in multi-academy trust governance
E-ACT is regarded as a leader in multi-academy trust governance and has received praise from Ofsted having transformed our approach to governance over the past two years.
Our Board of Trustees has overseen our transformation, and is comprised of 12 experienced individuals chosen for their expertise gained in a diverse range of industries in both the private and public sectors.
E-ACT’s governance remit is considerable. Five regional hubs have educational and operational responsibility for the academies in their area, and every one of our 25 academies is also supported by an Ambassadorial Advisory Group.
Our ideal candidate
We are looking for an exceptional individual experienced in governance practice. You will have significant experience of implementing process improvements in a governance function and in the development of required policies and procedures. You may have experience of undertaking a company secretary role.
You will also have experience of advising senior stakeholders and will be an excellent communicator. While governance experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential, you must have the ability to work in a fast moving environment to high levels of accuracy.
Why work for us?
This is an exciting time to join an ambitious team and organisation. We offer the chance to work with amazing people and inspirational pupils, as well as a great salary and sector-leading work-life balance arrangements.
