Seton College is a contemporary Catholic coeducational secondary college which focuses on delivering differentiated classroom teaching practice to meet specific learning needs of students across a diverse range of abilities.
The College is currently transitioning to closure in 2024 but its contribution to the community will continue in its story.

About the role

We are seeking a Groundsperson with a genuine passion for their work, to deliver a range of services for the upkeep, maintenance, and development across the school grounds of our following two Colleges:

  • Clairvaux MacKillop College - Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt
  • Seton College - 1148 Cavendish Road, Mt Gravatt East

Duties include (but not limited to):

  • Minor landscaping work and lawn mowing
  • Maintaining clean and tidy school grounds, including rubbish collection
  • Routine trade and non-trade maintenance and repairs
  • Providing feedback into planning, preparing and development of school grounds
  • Liaising with onsite contractors
  • Inventory management for grounds supplies and materials
  • Liaise with various internal and external personnel on issues of lost property and damage to facilities
  • Assist with setting up significant school events
  • Support locking and unlocking school grounds
  • Compliance with workplace health and safety requirements. 

You will have previous experience in a groundskeeping role - ideally in a school environment, and display strong customer service skills.
You must be able to work independently and as part of a small team. 
You will also have a good work ethic and seek to achieve quality work whilst maintaining the highest level of safety.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Weeks worked:  Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 5 days/week (38 hours/week) combined - across both Colleges

Salary level, range or hourly rate: $58,205 per annum plus up to 12.75% Super

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
