Job overview

Royal High School Bath (RHSB) is a leading independent day and boarding school, providing its pupils with an outstanding, contemporary education in preparation for life in a fast changing world.

The School was established in 1998, through the coming together of two independent girls’ schools in Bath. The creation of RHSB reinforced the commitment to girls’ only education that was held by both schools for over a century. RHSB is situated across two sites (Prep School and Senior School) located close to the centre of Bath, both of which offer a mixture of historic buildings and purpose-built new teaching facilities. These provide a learning environment which is rich, vibrant and creative. With around 600 girls aged 3-18, the School is part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), a family of 25 girls’ schools. Uniquely within the GDST, Royal High School Bath offers boarding from Year 7 and also offers the IB alongside A-Levels at Sixth Form.

The GDST Council now invites applications for the role of Head. The post offers a tremendous opportunity for a visionary and inspiring leader to join a highly successful and ambitious school, and drive it forward to further enhance its holistic education provision and impressive academic standing.
